We are a multi-platform production company, social media agency, and digital media network who are currently on a quest to find a Senior Channel Manager to join our Agency (Sport) team. Is this your next opportunity?
We are working with an iconic, world-leading sports broadcaster and seeking a YouTube focused Senior Channel Manager to be embedded within their organisation and lead the evolution of its platform presence. This senior role is critical to a multi-year strategy aimed at engaging new audience groups and delivering authentic, YouTube-first original content. You will serve as the day-to-day link between traditional editorial functions and YouTube, ensuring all output is optimised for maximum reach and engagement in an increasingly competitive landscape.
The successful candidate will be based within the partners' team in Salford, Manchester, as part of a joint oversight group. You will be the day-to-day strategy guardian responsible for moving its YouTube presence towards a destination for original, YouTube-first content.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME
Strategy Guardianship: Act as the day-to-day lead in ensuring all channel activity adheres to the core YouTube strategy and editorial principles.
Ecosystem Management: Oversee a portfolio of channels, managing a high-cadence publishing schedule and coordinating the launch of new platform-native brands.
Content Advisory: Work closely with internal and external teams to offer real-time expertise and guidance on YouTube-first formatting, pacing, and visual storytelling.
Channel Optimisation: Drive performance through expert titling, thumbnail art direction, and the strategic use of all platform features to maximise watch time and viewer retention.
Data-Led Decision Making: Leverage analytics to monitor channel health, track performance, and provide real-time actionable insights to shape future content decisions.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a central point of contact for the client’s YouTube Champions across different functions - you’ll be developing platform knowledge throughout the wider organisation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything.
Platform Mastery: Extensive, current knowledge of the latest YouTube algorithms, publishing tools, and best practices for driving long-form watch time and short-form reach.
Editorial Excellence: An eye for identifying authentic hooks and the ability to editorialise high-profile sporting content for a YouTube-first audience.
Audience Centricity: A deep understanding of Gen Alpha, Gen Z and under-25 viewing habits, with the ability to identify formats that resonate with audiences.
Stakeholder Upskilling: Experience working in a consultancy or advisory capacity to help traditional content producers adapt their output for YouTube-native audiences.
Operational Leadership: The ability to manage complex internal workflows and scale operational support during high-pressure, global tentpole sporting events.
Proven Platform Track Record: Experience managing and growing major YouTube channels, with a demonstrated ability to drive subscriber viewership and deeper engagement.
Analytics-Driven Optimisation: Deep expertise in using platform analytics to drive editorial decisions, specifically focusing on audience retention graphs, average view duration, and click-through rate (CTR) optimisation.
Production Insight: Experience informing the development of original YouTube content series, including visual podcasts, behind-the-scenes access, and interactive live formats.
Local Presence: We’re looking for someone located in or within reasonable daily travelling distance of Salford - therefore able to reach client's offices, attend regular in-person touch-points, and join leadership meetings.
